Elena Zavalza is an Candelen behavioral health intern who is passionate about educating the community on behavioral health. She has been working with families for over eight years and three of those years have been in a clinical setting. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a focus on women and gender studies, and a Master’s degree in Family & Human Development from Arizona State University. She has specialized in working with the zero to five community, as well as providing psychoeducation for families with young children.
Elena is a certified facilitator for the Circle of Security Parenting group. She has been providing support in a group setting for two years.
She is currently attending Grand Canyon University and is working toward her Master’s in Social Work. When she isn’t doing homework, she’s finding a trail to explore.
